Livingstone Shire Libraries

Yeppoon and Emu Park libraries run children’s activities, including under-fives programming during Queensland school terms. First 5 Forever

Babies and children from birth to five can enjoy talking, singing, reading and play activities with their parents or primary carers. Appleton Park inclusive play equipment

Appleton Park in Yeppoon has an Inclusive Orbit Carousel and Zenith Two Bay Swing, installed to broaden play opportunities for children of different ages and abilities. PCYC Capricorn Coast Aquatic Centre

Families can visit the Yeppoon centre for general swimming or introduce younger children to water through Little n Active H2O. Yeppoon Scout Group

Livingstone Shire Council September School Holidays

Running from 18 September to 4 October 2026, the council’s September holiday program includes family and youth options such as outdoor skills, circus activities, fishing, movies, laser tag and a youth money workshop. PCYC Outdoor Adventures Capricorn Coast

Based at Cooee Bay, PCYC provides tailored outdoor programs and camps for primary and secondary school groups. Available activities include rock climbing, kayaking, high ropes, abseiling, bush skills and beach walks. Group enquiries are required rather than casual individual bookings. Accommodation is available on site, including an accessible cabin.

🎓 Kindergarten and child development

C&K Taranganba Community Kindergarten

Near Yeppoon, this government-approved kindergarten provides a program for children turning four by 30 June in the year before school. It operates during Queensland school terms and closes during school holidays. Eligible-age children can attend under Queensland Kindergarten Funding. Places for three-year-olds may be offered when vacancies exist, but different fees and enrolment priorities apply.

Capricorn Coast Occupational Therapy Services

This Zilzie-based paediatric provider works with children and families from birth through to young adulthood. Support includes early intervention for disability and developmental challenges, feeding therapy, Lego-based social-skills therapy and school-holiday social-skills programs. AllSorts is a private multidisciplinary paediatric allied-health practice offering developmental therapy for children in the Capricorn Coast area. Therapy Works CQ

This regional multidisciplinary team serves Yeppoon and the Capricorn Coast alongside other Central Queensland communities. Babies, children and adolescents can access occupational therapy, speech pathology, physiotherapy and exercise physiology. Depending on the child’s needs and arrangements, services may be delivered at home, at an early childhood centre or school, or through teletherapy. Eligible Yeppoon families can access free support from pregnancy until a child or young person turns 18. The service includes single-parent families, kinship carers, guardians and extended-family households. 🛡 Youth accommodation and family violence support

Carinity On Track

On Track is a medium-term accommodation and support program on the Capricorn Coast for young people aged 12–17 who are in the child safety system. It is not a self-referral housing service. Accommodation referrals must be made through the Department of Child Safety.

DVConnect

DVConnect provides Queensland-wide domestic and family violence support by phone rather than through a confirmed local premises. Womensline is available 24 hours a day on 1800 811 811. Mensline offers confidential counselling, information and referrals from 9am to midnight, seven days a week, on 1800 600 636.
